True confession-

The other day, I was flying a pretty high ranking VIP around in my helo. To make a long story short, I could not get the tail wheel unlocked, and we were headed towards a fire bottle on the ramp. I think I must of said FU*K about three or four times in some form. My shocked copilot looked at me and asked, is the Admiral up ICS? From the back, I heard "Yes I am".

I aplolgized, and he was actually a really nice and friendly guy. I assume the higer in rank you are past 0-5, the more laid back most folks seem. I was still embarassed, but it all turned out well, except I had to hear about it from all the other pilots the next day at work.

Foul Language

Sounds like you were cussing like a **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**ed....SAILOR!

Dude, don't sweat it, you were the aircraft commander (HAC) and as far as I can tell as long as you're on ICS and you're signed for the AC you can say whatever the hell you want, especially in the face of possible upcoming doom.

Keep flying, NAVY helo boys (and gals) are my brothers and sisters.

You should be ashamed of yourself...yuk, yuk, yuk.

If you're gonna cuss, do it in style like the crewdog you are. You should of impressed the old man with the same word, but spoken in a variety of languages you've learned over the years from fellow flyers and roadtrips. Then you should of asked him if there were any other terms of exclamation that he wanted to add to improve your aviation vocabulary. Remember, not all 4 letter words have just 4 letters. I can pretty much guarantee he could have helped you out with an extra word or two. I've learned that the higher the rank, the more they yearn to be back in their O-3 crewdog days...so he probably really enjoyed that flight.

Enjoy the flying...

Yeah, I was one of the two H-3's that were airborne at that time. It was neat to see it coming thru the pass, but it looked a bit smaller then a CVN.

What was even better was my beach run later that afternoon. Spring Break is in full swing - you get the idea! Tops come off for the orang and white helo.

Yeah, swing on by. I am not sure of my schedule this week, and I flying to Key West next weekend, but the week after, I am on duty twice. PM me if you want the number to the unit. Just bring your helo dunker papers, and I will hook you up.

If you were flying the BG Cmdr, I know he got a kick out of it. He was flying with us twice a week while we were out at sea. good guy -if you can keep him off the rudders!
