Hi, does anyone know if there are any special requirements going to bermuda in a none RVSM midsize jet(rvsm, customs, security, etc.)thank's in advance!!

Non RVSM Jet? Dont forget that you need to have enough gas to get to bermuda and back. There is only one runway there and if something happens and you cant get in, then you have to come back to the states. (closest airport)

We fly a lear 36 so fuel is not a problem we do have HF.
I am probably stopping in Wilmington NC, both ways.
And the pax. do have passports,

I was just there last weekend. We used Bermuda air service...BAS I think. Good service. Bring lots of money it is not cheap there. Try to eat at the Lobster Pot in Hamilton. We had a really great meal there....have fun

sure you can..........tell atc either in your flight plan remarks or when you're airborne that you would like to climb above RVSM........they may vector you off to nowhere, but they'll get you up there. i had to do it a few times while waiting for our part 91 LOA to come in.

Thinking outside of the box from time to time is part of this business.

ORF or PHF are both good jump off points going out there as well. One of the routes comes right off of Elizabeth City straight out more or less. With Wilmington I remember a little bit more of a jog. Still not much of a time difference but ORF/PHF is a little bit shorter I think. Not to mention quick turns at PHF used to be great as well as customs.

As far as the comment aboutbeing radar vectored to climb through RVSM. There are many restricted/warning areas off the VA and NC coasts and ATC generally need you on an established route. Not to mention it doesn't take long from either of these departure airports to become non-radar. So IMHO climbing through especially if you you try to plan on doing it, just isn't going to happen. I've tried domestically to do that in our Hawker 800XP prior while waiting for the feds to issue the LOA...ATC more or less just laughed.

Enjoy the trip out there. Very beautiful place but very expensive! Hamilton Princess in downtown Hamiliton is a nice place to stay. Many British Airways crews stay there. Plus you can get out and walk into/through town rather easily. Taking taxis everywhere will get very pricey very quickly, since renting a car is not possible for non-citizens. Enjoy your trip!

Been there a few times in a Lear 35 Air Ambulance. Get there before 2000 local time (I think) to avoid $650 or so in after hours charges. Ask for George, the taxi driver--they'll know who you mean. Tell him that Wayne from the air ambulance company in Atlanta told you to ask for him. After hours, call NY Center on the ground to get them to turn the runway lights on for you. Vewry nice people at the FBO--never got to go anywhere else--just grab a patient and go.

Definitely ask for George. Worth the trip just to go for a cab-ride with this character (driver/diplomat/tourguide.)
You won't have any trouble with the trip.
One HF position report, and you're there, and they've got a nice little FBO.
Do NOT stay at the Harmony Club. Yuck.
