Transmeridian Airlines

Anyone know if Transmeridian is still operating, I've tried looking up them up on the web, but I've have not had any luck. Greatful for any suggestion.

I work at the ANG base at KTOL and have seen TMA a few times......I've never heard of them can anyone offer any info?

I've seen them do all sorts of contract flying....I've seen them sub for Bahamasair 737's when they go down for MX.

Corporate offices I believe are in Atlanta....

I just finished a trip. I saw them in SYR. They are doing SYR-MCO-SJU (San Juan) and I believe he said Vegas out of SYR.

I believe they also started service from Rockford Illinois to Orlando-Sanford, Florida. My friend who is at Delta Connection Academy has seen their planes more and more often lately.

727's (five) fly scheduled public charters from:
SYR to SFB (Orlando Sanford)
SFB-SJU
TOL-SFB
RFD-SFB
LAS-SFB

SYR, RFD,TOL are putting up $$$$MONEY$$$ for us to continue this service, so far SYR has been very happy and the rumor is SFB will get three more cities by 1/04.

727 Bases are SYR,SFB, and LAS.

One 727 is wetleased with crews to Air Santo Domingo which flies subservice from SJU-SDQ.

757's (five with 2 on order) Charter operations with FUNJET Vacations and other tour operators. Bases (Pilots) JFK,MIA,ORD.

MD-80's (Five) Will be for ADDITIONAL Charter flying in the Texas market and to replace the 727 whne the come up for the "D" check, they MAY replace the 727 with another equipment type other than the MD-80's.

Yes, TMA is hiring, they DO NOT require you to resign from your former employer and we have several ex-UAL, AA, Delta and TWA guys and gals here.


SFB (Orlando) is now a MX base for the 727, and 757.

Don't know about the Direct entry Captain thing.

We seem to have a pretty good bunch of F/O's who have the 5000TT 2000 Jet to upgrade so I really cannot guess.

TMA interview

Got called the other day for an interview.
I also know of another former TWAer, who got the call. We both have been Captains on the MD-80.

They do indeed hire into the left seat.
The pay is 58K an year for a 16 day line and another $500 a day after that.

18 mo. training bond for 20K. Worked off at a rate of $1100 a month.
