I'm curious if there are regionals out there who pay you some sort of wage during training. Anyone know if there is a list available?

Mesa pays full 70 hour guarantee per bid period while in training.
TSA pays 60 hours if I believe correctly.
XJET pays a one-time check of a certain amount (can't remember what it is).

Others I don't know...

Horizon

Horizon pays you a "salary" based on 16 credit hours per week, at whatever the current pay scale is. (it changes this month I believe, but was $26.24 when I went through training last year) This reduced training pay is valid through the end of the bid in which you complete IOE.

edit: they also pay for double occupancy lodging during training.

Another point to figure into salary, is whether lodging is provided or not. XJT does provide lodging, TSA does not, not sure about Mesa or the others. This could really impact whatever amount you would otherwise get.

Mesaba pays for your own hotel room and pays you your 75 hrs./month salary guarantee. Health insurance also starts on day 1. As much as I dislike our management, it's a decent place to start. Just don't plan on upgrading. You will upgrade, its just wise to plan on living as an FO for several years.

American Eagle

Eagle pays either 72 or 75 hours 1st year FO pay /month and pays for your hotel while in training.

XJT pays you a one-time sum of $1470 +/- a few bucks, which is tax-free. We got our check at the beginnin of the second week. After you pass your checkride, which happens around week six, they start paying you your $75/hour guarantee.

Hotel is double occupancy.

A really nice benefit is positive space travel between IAH and home during training. We had people in class go home every weekend. I went home four or five times throughout training.

The bad: no medical until six months after your date of hire, which is the first day of class.

Eagle also pays per diem while in training. I don't recall if it was for 8 or 16 hours a day, but if you keep your dining to places like Jack in the Box and Jason's Deli, your meals will be covered.

Hotel is single-occupancy. And, your travel benefits (for your parents and partner) also start the first week. A number of people had their wives/girlfriends fly in to visit on weekends during training.

PSA pays you your 72 hour guarentee+Hotel expenses+24 hour per diem.

You pay for food. That's it.

Not quite...

Eagle pays 64 hrs/month, and 16hrs a day x 7 days a week perdiem. Each semimonthly check is in the vicinity of $975 take home (when only stolen from by the IRS). 401k, medical, uniform deductions etc will knock that down lower.

Hotel is single occupancy paid for the duration of training. Not a 5 star facility but I'm definitely comfortable / having fun here!

I think he meant 75 hour per month guarantee at $20.00 per hour, not $75.00 per hour.

I recently applied to Eagle. How long did they take to call you for an interview after you did the online thingie??
Thanks!

WHAT?! You mean I misread the contract? :D

ASA pays the 75 hr guarantee per month at $19.02 per hour during training. DFW (soon to be SLC) based pilots in training also receive per diem, but ATL based pilots do not.

Hotel is paid for at the Red Roof Inn in ATL, and is single occupancy; normally in a "King Suite" which has a fridge and microwave in it, as well as a large desk.

Its actually an email that comes out. Not sure what the usual response time is as mine was a bit of a "special case"... if it is more than 2 weeks I would be surprised. Last I heard they had no backlog of qualified applicants... PM me if you need/want any more info... I can tell you we are really in need of folks, though, especially with this big Delta pull out from DFW...

And I think I fibbed a bit... each semimonthly check is going to be closer to 900 take-home when only stolen from by the IRS... by first check had one extra day's pay on it... oops!
