Training Facility Tours

I was curious if someone could take a tour of a training facility. I know I am a low time pilot, but I always wondered what it would look like and how much equipment is in there. Do you have to do an internship or have an interview to see this stuff or can you just setup an appointment to tour the facility. Thanks for the replies and the info. It is greatly appreciated!

I used to see people on tours at the AA training center, but that was pre 9/11. They do have a museum next to the training center, the entrance is free, and they will show a short documentary, very inspirational. You could probably call them and ask if they have tours. I believe the museum is called the C.J. Smith museum, it's in the DFW area. The training facility is very impressive, they even have sims ranging from the 707, SAAB 340, to the 777. The place is HUGE.

A guy I know from another pilot forum is an intern at FSI in Atl.

He took my dad and I on a tour and ended the tour by letting us take the Lear 60 sim around the pattern a couple of times.

Get to know somebody like that.

I'VE GOT ONE BETTER...

HOW ABOUT TAKING A CLASS AND A RIDE IN ONE OF THOSE SIMULATORS.

I did this awhile back when in college. It was a real hoot! Wayne Phillips ran a real good program.

The website is still running, however. Not sure if the program is??

Check on it, and report back here if you have any feedback.

It was real resonably priced for someone who could never have any exposure to what we do for a living.
