N3384S TO BENTON FIELD, REDDING, CA, LOST ENGINE POWER AND LANDED INTO KESWICK RESERVOIR ON THE SACRAMENTO RIVER. THE AIRCRAFT SUNK. THE SOLE OCCUPANT SWAM TO SHORE. NO INJURIES, REDDING, CA

This gentleman flew from WA state to Redding...five hours. He told reporters that he thought he still had one hour of fuel left.

I have some time in 210's...and 6 hours of flight is possible with full tanks...

You are throttled back, 1st notch of flaps, and boring circles in the sky on recon/air attack.

I'll bet dollars to donuts the NTSB comes back with fuel mismanagment.

Don't know the pilot, not casting aspersions on him or his abilities...just my 2 cents...
