Question: What's the difference between the Hindenburg and Rush Limbaugh?

Answer: One is a flaming Nazi gas bag and the other is a dirigible.

"Where Is the Love?" by Blackeyed Peas with back up vocals by Babs and Ditzy Chicks

I think that's more like topical Al Franken humor.

Uninformed, and requiring the ignorance of facts and the replacement of those facts with a lie.

That's about Al Franken speed. And for a lot of ignorant people, it works.

A Nazi!!! Yea, that's it. Rush likes to kill Jews, sieze everyone's firearms, nationalize private industry. Yea - I think I see the similarities. BTW - if you're going to throw around missapplied labels, you forgot racist/bigot, angry white man, etc.

ROFLMFAO!

Thanks N22 ... I needed that. :D

rush is a fat, deaf idiot with a penchant for painkillers

that's pretty sad in its own way, and whether or not what he believes all the crap he preaches is really a non-issue, because like most of the talking heads, he's in this biz for money

Vlad, your ignorance is showing.

Why are liberals so quick to label Rush "fat", when ordinarily they wouldn't make such a bigoted, hateful, non-inclusive statement? I don't think they would refer to Rosie O'Donnel as a "fat dyke windbag with a penchant for cupcakes". Am I missing something, or is that just a little hypocritical?

It's true that Rush circa 1999 was fat, but have you seen him recently? Not fat anymore. So much for keeping up with current events, but then I guess that is the Democrat style.

Rosie is a "fat dyke windbag with a penchant for cupcakes"

and Rush is still a fat bastard with a penchant for painkillers, two facts, neither of which, the fatso preacher has denied

Rush isnt fat, nor is he a preacher.

Yes he is a recovering addict.

20 million listeners every Monday through Friday enjoy Rush's unique blend of humor, irreverence, and the serious discussion of events with a conservative slant.

Rush made some grave personal errors. He has never tried to be a role model. Not one of us can honestly claim to have never made a gross error in judgement -- perhaps in our indiscretion we didn't get caught.

As an American, you can choose to be entertained by any immoral person you desire. I continue to tune in to Rush.

As an aside, it is interesting to see who the name-callers and haters are in this thread. Things that make you go hmmmm...

I am an equal opportunity hater, first to admit that Hillary and Rosie are just carpet-begging and exploiting the liberal cause. Rush, meanwhile, tries to impart his conservative firebrand on those who will listen, just because most of them agree for reasons of bigotry, nationalism, etc.

but he should at least practice what he preaches and lay off twinkies and oxycontin

Wow Vlad, it must be a burden to be yoked by all that hate.

There is another way.

I have never heard any evidence of bigotry from Rush - definitely from his critics, but never from Rush. Obviously judgments made by his remarks taken out of context or secondhand info - check the source.

He gave up the Twinkies a couple years back - he's fit.

I'm guessing after 5 weeks of rehab, the drug problems are behind him.

All the way with Vlad here. Purple Haze, no evidence of bigotry?? Didn't he just get fired by ESPN for saying Donovan McNabb gets alot of attention simply because he is black??? What the hell do you think that statement is?? Yeah, he was drafted 3rd overall a few years back because the Eagles thought it would be good if they had a black player. Gimme a break. He's a big fat drug using racist idiot! PERIOD! And everyone knows where the "fat" reference comes from. And as a liberal I keep up to date on the facts Timebuilder. Although I've lost count of the number of americans killed in Iraq.......

Amazing people would defend a man who bought oxycontin, probably stolen, possibly in a violent manner. The guy should be doing a little time, if not only for contributing to the drug trade but for preaching against it while he was using. If it was al Franken that did this, you guys would be ALL OVER him!!

Mr. I.

Cuz I can't keep my trap shut...

I have no dog in this race. Not here to defend or condemn RL, but IMHO this statement has been mis-analyzed by most.

He stated that DM got a lot of attention because the press wanted to see a black QB succeed. Without inserting opinion on the subject, I'll just say it's hard for me to interpret his statement as anything other than a dig on the media, not black people. It clearly said to me that he thought the media were bigoted for giving him the extra press because of his race.

That's what the hell I think that statement is.

It's interesting to me that so many interpret it otherwise.

n2264j, I enjoyed the joke :D

I know what you mean bro. You wouldn't believe all the flack I've had to endure defending Bill Clinton in regards to be a racist, a murderer, a drug addict, and sex addict. I keep telling these people he never got caught so it doesn't count. The alleged witnesses are all liars.
In regards to Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV), he was unwilling participant in the KKK.
Got to defend our team no matter what. Keep the faith.

Where Is the Love?

Mr. Irrelevan, Rush did not make a racist statement. The fact McNabb gets undeserved attention because he is black is racist. Rush drawing attention to the fact makes him outspoken, but not racist. Whether McNabb actually gets special attention is arguable, and the statement was in poor taste, thus Rush resigned.
It is irrelevant what draft place McNabb was, he was playing poorly when the comment was made and was probably undeserving of the media attention
A different example:
When an underqualified minority is hired ahead of other qualified individuals (hired because of race), that is racism. Bringing attention to that hiring practice is not racism.
Racist:
noun: a person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others
adjective: based on racial intolerance (Example: "Racist remarks")
adjective: discriminatory especially on the basis of race or religion

No. He resigned - he was not even asked to resign. And, as I expected, your quote is out of context. In my opinion he used poor judgment in expressing his opinion about the amount of media coverage and favorable rankings heaped upon Duncan McNabb, given that statistically, Duncan was not the top performing quarterback of last season. Duncan was one of the greatest college players of all time, and he played through a serious injury which likely would have crippled me. He may become the best - he has all the makings: drive, talent, and incredible skill. But this season, his performance was not among the top 5 quarterbacks in the NFL - statistically. Yet his media coverage was #1. Rush ran off his mouth and speculated that Duncan's popularity was because there are so few African-American quarterbacks. Bad choice - yes. Bigoted - no. I am against using radio commentators as television sports authorities.

Jail for convicted illegal drug users - yes. Charge him and try him. Treat Al Franken the same way - but you are somewhat right, I don't care for Franken's slanderous and hateful brand of humor - I guess I can see why you might be drawn to it.

Uh, stop looking thru rose colored glasses. Consider the source and really, using the media is an excuse. Clearly what was meant was, he's not as good, just only gets the press because he is black. That in and of itself is a racist statement. Just as racist as Isaiah saying Bird is only considered good because he is white, back in the 80's. 87 Series I believe. Goes both ways I'll admit. But don't kid yourselves, he didn't get let go, fired, laid off, for being a pc guy. Not that I agree with all the pc bs out there, but he's Rush for pete's sake. Take the glasses off!!!

More like put on the rose colored glasses. Your entire argument is based on your belief that Limbaugh is a racist. Based on your assertions I can assume that you have never listened to his show. Your opinion is based on what you have heard from other liberals/Rush haters who also have never heard the show. This results in a snowball effect based on uninformed opinion. You want to believe that Limbaugh is a racist so you take statements out of context and bend them into your narrow mindset.
How can you argue something if you know nothing about it?
Please give me an irrefutable example of Limbaugh being a racist. You wont find one, not that you will look. You will just point to the espn remark that you have already taken horribly out of context. What's your proof? He's Rush.
