Once upon a time a Very Large Airline decided that their DC-9's were not economical to operate so they "unburdened" themselves of said aircraft.

Some enterprising young businessmen didn't think that they were all that uneconomical to operate, and they bought those DC-9's.

Next thing you know, all of those uneconomical DC-9's are operating in the very same hub as the Very Large Airline, competing for revenue on many of the Very Large Airline's routes.

This did not make the board of directors at the Very Large Airline very happy. They vowed that this would never happen again.

They decided that the next time they were faced with "uneconomical" airplanes they would park them at Pinal airpark and continue to make the lease payments on them. This way they would not have to worry about competing ever again.

I am still trying to crunch the numbers on how many beer cans 49 of our RJ's will make? Might be useful information when I lose my job in 2011!
