Ive noticed a lot of pilots gettin on with xjt with about 600tt, but what about airlines like asa/comair that quote 1200tt. Has anyone been hired by them with less? Would it be easy to get picked up with 1000/200??

...whats your hurry?

just itching to get out of the cfi grind - wondering when to put out the ressy/apply online

Put out your resume to anyone and everyone you can now..

I don't think you'll get a bite from CMR with your times, but it doesn't cost much to send in the resume.

Just a reminder Noonan, if you did'nt get on with the regionals until two thousand hours of CFIing, you'd be that much more valuable to the pax who depend on us in the airline industry. You'll get there eventually, so keep doing your best at teaching (and sending out apps). We're depending on you, seriously.

You think that you are having a hard time of it as a cfi, wait till you are making the same money, only you don't control your schedule. I hope you get there one day. Remember the feeling you have now of wanting to move on, it will certainly hit you again about year 2 or 3 at the regionals.

usually You may make the same money only during your first year pay. I just got on with XJET and i was instructing prior and worked pretty much 6 to 7 days a week and make the same money i will now during my first year pay, but i am off at least 11 days a month if not more. I agree that pay sucks but as far as quality of life it is only getting better for me at least. Just my two cents. Everyone wants to move on to bigger and better things.

Horizon just was at UND and took some guys that had 800 and 51. I just got on with them with 924 and 260.

Oh boy, I can't wait to fly with those rookies!
More babysitting I don't get paid for.

First year FO at most regionals is certainly a lot better than the CFI lifestyle 95% of the time, it was definitely a huge step up in pay and QOL for me.

Pay is easily double, 11-12 days off a month.

That said, with low time, try Chatauqua, Expressjet and Pinnacle. Any of those places beat sweating your balls off teaching someone to taxi a 152 all summer long. CFI'ing is fun for a while, and good experience, but watching someone fly a skyhawk while you get paid next to nothing is only tolerable for so long....

Pinnicle

Pinnicle is right now on 350 advertising 1000/200/100. Don't forget; as F/O you are only expected to say three things; Uh, was that call for us?, I'll have the chicken and nice landing captain.

3 Good FO Callouts

Been around for a while, but still holds true.

"You're Right"
"Clear Right"
"I'll Take The Fat One"

You don't have to have any experience. That is what the captain is there for, to teach you for free. These aircraft only have 2 pilots in them because they were certified for 2. Any airline that takes pilots with less than 2000 hours is just checking a box. Mine included.

Well at one point ACA was hiring people from UND and ERAU with 500tt and 50me times. Always interesting the sneaky way of doing things when at most regionals it is generally 1500/250.

What a clown, this guy is acting like he was born with time, and never looked for a break. How easy it is for some jokers to act like god when they upgrade on a LITTLE old turboprop.
