Hey dumb question of the month.

I have been intensively gathering info on Guard & Res. openings, and the application process. I understand all that I have to do, but everyone keeps mentioning your " package" what exactly is included in this? AFOQT, PCSM, Resume, picture, any AF Forms??
My recruiter that is supposed to be helping me is a little on the lazy side.

Thanks!

Great book for look of an application, etc., but.....info is severely outdated now. It's just as easy to go to ang.af.mil and find a number for the unit. Then ask for the OG's number. Easy as that.

I haven't found one contact name in the book that is still good. Plus, it is missing some units. The book is really geared toward guys who are current pilots separating from AD.

Package items

Checking out baseops.net might help. I think several of the Units list exactly what they want.

Here's what was required at the Unit I got a slot with....

Cover letter
Resume
AFOQT results
Official College Transcripts
Local Application (Unit specific)
At least 3 letters of rec.
DD 2246 Medical Prescreening Form
Copies of flight ratings
Prior Service info, if applicable

The recruiter I dealt with told me not to bother wasting money on a fancy binding or folder, just put it in a simple folder. She showed me the collection of nice folders, etc. she has accumulated. When you package arrived she would immediately remove it from whatever you sent it in and organize it how they wanted it.

ANG websites

This might help with contact info. in the states you're interested in.

What part of the country/type of aircraft are you looking for? I might already have some info.

I never bought any of the books since most of the info is out there with a little digging. Plus, it's probably a good bet they don't have the latest and greatest info.
