Got my pilot slot today through AFROTC.

I wanted to thank everyone on this board for there shared info. Although I haven't posted much on here I have read quite a bite over the last few years, and I think that this board has helped guide me along the way.
There is alot of knowledge on here and it is greatly appretiated.

Thanks again,
Stock

Not Navy BUT AF will do.

Congrats bro!!

Congratulations, man! I know it's been a long road, been chatting with you for a couple years about all this.

Obviously you made the right choices, so enjoy.

Glad to hear it, Jeff. Now go celebrate!

Jafar,

Any word on your package?

Thanks again guys.

Jafar, yes it is party time tommorow. I got my slot, had a birthday, and have the first day of spring break all in the same week.

What kind of info were you looking for? I would be more than willing to share any info that I have.

Later,

Ha! Which one? I'm applying to 47 different ANG and reserve units over the next year. OTS in a couple months.

But no, nothing solid yet. Hope to have an interview in May...

I started AFROTC about the same time Jstock did. Never contracted, left after two semesters and enlisted in the reserve instead. ROTC wasn't for me. Guard/Reserve or OTS is more my speed.

Again, congrats to jstock!

I'm particularly curious about any ROTC type programs for the guard. I'm not even sure if they really exist! The ideal situation would be to interview and get accepted, then finish school and go to OCS. I know there is a program in some of the active duty forces like this, where one gets a pilot slot.(at least a training slot i should say) but I do not want to be active duty. This is not because of not wanting to get deployed, I just want to fly, not make General!
