Thanks again for the info. The payscale helped me get an idea.
I guess my point was that this 5k hour pilot is flying corporate for 33k. Iwould think they would make more.

By the way I've read alot of your posts and they are very informative and quite motivating.

I see that you too were a flight instructor. How old were you when you entered OCS, if you don't mind? the reason I'm asking is I'm 27, 28 in March. Airlines aren't hiring which means I'll be flight instructing for a while unless I make a move.

I've always wanted to fly for military until I went to Embry-Riddle and thought why join the Military where they don't guarentee you a slot. Are you guaranteed a pilot slot?

I enjoy flight instruction but i became a pilot because I WANT TO FLY!!! I think you know what I mean. I don't get to fly any more.

By the way, where are you in your training? Done OCS?

Thanks for any advise or info.

If you want to fly for the Navy I suggest that you start applying immediately. As far as I know a Student Naval Aviator has to be commissioned (done with OCS) prior to turning 28. Also, there is no getting around that age limit unless you are prior enlisted.

I’m curious, which ERAU campus did you attend?

FLY NAVY!!

Thanks for the Info. I'm going to check with an officer recruiter, unless you have someone else in mind(like your recruiter) on the age thing. That would suck if I missed my window.

I graduated in 2000 at the Daytona Beach Campus.

Funny how things work out, I turned down a Guarantee from the Marines while I was attending another college to transfer to ERAU at Daytona because "I wanted My Options". I wasn't sure if I wanted to go Mil. or civilian. After flight instructing and flying the civilian route for a little I've made up my mind. I'll fly what ever the mil will give me.

I hope its not too late. If it is ...well good luck and have fun for those of you who made it. I've read alot of gouges and journals and it sounds like a lot of fun... To be honest alot more fun then flying jumpers or flight instructing. Take care and Happy New years!!!

I would love to be able to be able to let you get in touch with my old recruiter. However, he has since moved on to another assignment and is no longer a recruiter. Also, when you talk to your recruiter make sure that he isn’t trying to blow a bunch of smoke up your a**. Even some of the Officer recruiters out there will tell you what ever you want to hear just to get you to sign on the dotted line.

Good luck.

CC is treating me just fine. I’m still hanging around till I start Ground School in 2 weeks. I spend most of my time either in the simulators, playing computer games at home or just hanging out in town. Life is good so far, I cant wait to start flying.

9th RLP week is a joke. I got a 93 and I didn’t spend any time preparing for it. Hope you get CC, I am really glad I came here instead of staying at Whiting Field.
