I have been lurking on this message board for a couple of years and this is the first time I have found a subject that I care enough about to post a message.

It is a little known fact that when Comair went on strike, several companies unofficially started to conduct preferential hiring of Comair pilots. Airtran and Netjets in particular, but many others did the same thing. I was hired by Airtran, but when Comair started up I was dumb enough to decline their offer. I would like to thank them for helping us out when we needed it.

I will personally talk to people on our hiring board and ask them to only interview Mesaba pilots for the duration of the strike. I urge other pilots to do the same thing. They are not just fighting for themselves, they are fighting for all of us. I will also send money to help out.

Ya, but these guys who take interviews and jobs to only turn them down/screw the new company later, make it tough for others. They should only interview and take jobs they are serious about getting. When I was furloughed, it did not matter what I promised, those interviewing me immediately thought I would leave ASAP upon recall.
