His firing is a total PR knee jerk reaction. What a bunch of poo. I totally agree that Weightman bears a burden for what went on at Walter Reed, however he has only been the commander there for 6 months. Should he be fired... I don't know. What I do know is that these problems probably started manifesting a few years ago and not in the last six months. So let's see... who was in command of Walter Reed for those years... ummm... LTGEN Kevin Kiley. I think a lot of the fingers should be pointing at him as well. But instead the Army has decided to name Kiley as the interim commander of Walter Reed until a replacement for Weightman can be found.

Makes sense to me.

A bunch of crap. I agree with O-ryan. Think of the strain these guys must be under. Walter Reed ran perfect when there were no casualties. Now that they're dealing with thousands of wounded soldiers, some problems will inevitably crop up. No military operation is perfect. I've got a buddy with brain tumors being treated at WR and he's raved about the top notch treatment he's gotten, the bravery of the wounded soldiers there, and the dedication of the med personnel who are treating them. Chalk up a victory to the left wing media America haters.

Sec Army -- gone, too.

CNN has an interesting story.

I am still amazed that Kiley still has a job. This started and festered on his watch. Weightman is guilty of signing the hand receipt without taking inventory of the situation. The 8th step and final step in the Troop Leading Procedure...Supervise.
