About 3 months ago I took a checkride for a commercial certificate and was issued a temporary certificate. Two weeks ago I took a checkride to add an additional class onto that certificate. I surrendered the original temporary and was issued a new temporary listing both classes. Today I recieved a permenant certificate from the first checkride in the mail. Apparently the paperwork from the second ride didn't reach Oklahoma City in time. So now I have two certificates-- a permenant one that doesn't list all my ratings, and a temporary that does. So my question is: is the temporary I have now void since I recieved a permenant one? Should I just hang onto both of them until the second permenant comes or am I looking at a problem should I get ramp checked sometime in the next 3 months? If this is a problem, who would I call? The FSDO or OKC? Thanks!

I would think the tempory is good because it supersedes the perminate but older certificate. Don't know for shure tho.

As has already been stated, you obviously use the temporary certificate. Look at it this way: You say the temp was issued when you added a new class rating ... OK let's say it was to add a multi engine rating....so you're flying a multi engine airplane, which you are entitled to do. You get ramped, which certificate do you hand the examiner? The permenanat certificate which has no multi engine rating, or the temporary certificate which has a multi engine rating?
