We got a couple of pairs for the Falcon. Not a huge amount of noise reduction, but in a fairly quiet airplane, they're fantastic. They're also very comfortable (just barely heavier than 750's)
It's nice to have ANR's that you just plug into the standard sockets without having to worry about battery packs or hard-wiring the airplane. And you can use 'em in any plane you fly.
Just upgraded from the 750's in our Learjet 31A and they are fantastic. They make a huge difference. However they are the first ANR headsets I have used. I am sure they're ones with more reduction but they have the battery packs to deal with. I've flown with guys who had the Bose. Never tried them on but they said that they were great, but they all complained about changing batteries all of the time.
In my mind the Telex 850's are the way to go. But then again I'm only 29 years old and am not deaf yet to begin with. Alot of the guys I've talked to that dislike the 850's have about 15-20 years of flying and have already suffered hearing loss to start with. So they may in fact see enough advantage with some of the battery powered models...
I've used the 850s in Citation Vs and love them. They're light and comfortable to me. I've worn the Bose and still prefer the 850s just because they're less cumbersome. I wouldn't wear them in any GA airplanes, but they're great for jets.
I have a set and love them. I have used eariler Telex ANRs and liked the noise reduction. Have tried the Bose and didn't see that much reduction to justify the cost difference. Telex support is excellent. Use them in both the Lear and the G4. There is a noticable difference in the noise. Work weel in a King Air, but the larger ANR is a little quieter.
I used the original Telex ANR in a Metroliner. They worked very well. In fact, I could hear people talking in the back.
