I had this in the other thread but the question wasnt really answered...

Does anyone know why Ted Turner has a Challenger when he is from the state of Georgia where the home of Gulfstream is?
Does he have a beef with Gulfstream?

This is actually such old info that I am not sure he even has a Challenger anymore, but it was relevant at one time!

Biz,

Two reasons:

1) He's not a politician who has to suck up to anyone via "correctness"

2) He probably owns Canada...

$.02 worth

The last time I can recall his aircraft it was a CL-601 Challenger. I have not heard that that have gotten a Gulfstream...with all the concessions that they are handing out, I don't see why not.
I did notice that they have changed the name of their flight dept. but the DOM is still the same.

Ted

Operating a 604 now. Based at FTY. He is not the only flight operation to take the Challenger over the native bird at FTY. Most site DOC. Aquisition cost is less. He is also in a group hangar.

I am sure it does the run to RTN just fine. Being that he ran a Merlin with a 700 hour pilot, we can tell he likes to cut cost.

Maybe thats what Jane wanted when they were together????? Probably did not want something the U.S. military operates.
