I'm sitting out here in a hotel for the day at TEB and went to look to see what the WX was doing, I found out the airport was notamed closed.

Due to ACFT INCIDENT, the Teterboro Airport (TEB) was closed as of Feb 14 at 08:26 PM EST. The date/time when the airport is expected to reopen is Feb 14 at 10:30 PM EST.

As of 1109 PM EST, it's still closed.

Anyone have any idea what this "incident" was?

Apparently somebody slid, ran off the rwy.

Ya don't say:

I hear ya Raskal. These things will continue to occur at TEB. The conditions were horrible. And I would not have even gone to TEB last night and I have been there regularly for nearly 20 years.

TEB is a marginal airport, at best, in conditions such as last night. With winds such as last night, it was the ILS to 6. There is absolutely NO margin for error when landing on 6 due to it's usable length. And to do it with 20 or 30 kts and blowing snow, is asking for trouble.

It's an airport you really have to be on your "A" game in good weather, let alone poor conditions.

Let's be safe out there.

Yup, I'm here right now, after landing on 24 with a pretty challenging xwind yet again. No word on anything at Jet tonight, I'll talk to the day shift tomorrow and see what's up.
