cause 25g's is more than half of what most people make in a year
 
It's also more than what most people on this board make in 2 years.
 
Perhaps it wasn't that he couldn't come up with the money, but he just couldn't justify borrowing it for what he was getting. He was a space buff and all, but it was just a suborbital flight, not one of those trips to the international space station. A suborbital space flight would be fun, but it's really just a short carnival ride. I don't think I'd go into debt for it ... a trip to the ISS though, I might take out a second mortgage for that.
