I've been invited to interview at XJT next month, but have concerns about some of the documentation they require. I'm hoping someone who has recently interviewed there can help.

I have tax returns & W-2s back five years, and an IRS transcript back 10 years. I have also made a list of current addresses & phone numbers for past employers. Is this enough, or do I need to get more info?

Someone may correct me on this (wouldn't be a first), but I believe you've more than you need. When I interviewed in May, I only took the prior year's W2 and some pay stubbs. I think you only need the IRS report if you can't verify your employment history. They didn't even ask me to see the W2s or other tax papers.

Good luck with the interview...relax, and be yourself.

Tell me why they need to see your W-2's? Is it for the background investigation? I don't think I have ever given a w-2 to a prospective employer.

Tax Returns

I interviewed in mid October, and the only thing you need to be able to do is verify employment for the last ten years. The W-2's and returns they ask for are to verify any employers that you may have worked for that no longer exist, and to confirm any unemployment gaps of 30 days or greater. They want to see consistency in your work history. If you can provide current addresses, supervisor names, and phone #'s you'll be fine. They just have to be able to call your former employer and have verification that you actually worked there when you said you did. I would bring everything just to help you fill out all the paperwork after you get hired. Believe me, its a lot of paperwork. Hope this helps and Good Luck!

ExpressJet tax info

So if I had employment gaps of over 30 days in the summers of 96, 97, 99, 01, & 03 what should I do about it (my mother is from Europe and I spent those summers abroad). I went back to my previous job when I returned every year, but I have five 60 day+ periods of unemployment. This is one they are gonna enjoy! PA28, when you interviewing?

a gap in employment like you just mentioned is pretty easily explainable. i don't think they'd raise any eyebrows when looking at that. unless you got yousrelf fired each summer before going to europe!

I'm interviewing 11/9. I have a period of unemployment but have my tax returns for that period. The instructions that are given are a little ambiguous, so I want to ensure I bring what I need-I really want the job!

Hey Guys,
I Interviewed with XJT, and did'nt get the job because i had full motion sim time logged in TT. stupid error. Anyhow i know that i can reapply at the end of NOV. Does anyone know if they call back people for a second time as quickly as they do for the 1st interview or are you put on a list (if were desperate will call him). Any insight would be great thanks

Employment Gaps

I believe as long as you have a good record with the companies you worked with you are in good shape. If XJET can call your previous employer and ask them "Would you hire _____ again today?", and they answer yes then everything is good. As long as you don't have a history of getting fired then your O.K. with employment gaps. If they ask about them just BE HONEST.

You should be prepared to have a third party document these gaps. It's not a big deal but a statement from someone other than your mother will probably be required. It's not only XJT that need it, it's the Gov't as well.

I had gaps and got letter for each one. Just be prepared to deal with the details.
