Just hope everyone knows that part 91 operators out there flying International with 10 or more seats needs a Class A TAWS

Just hope that part 91 operators operating an N registered turbine aircraft with 6 or more seats know that they will need to have a class B TAWS after 29 March 2005.

the rule is domestic TAWS A & B are a requirement as applicable in March.

TAWS A is not applicable to PART 91 operators, TAWS A is applicable only to PART 135 operators.

Your post is incorrect Class A TAWS does apply to Part 91 Operators with 10 or more seats flying Internationally.

Six or more seats...you mean six or more passengers seats, right?

I dont have my regs in front of me, but I believe (from memory, be gentle with comments if I am wrong) that the rule in 91 is based on passenger seating 6 or 10 or more as to whether TAWS A or B is required. I can not remerber if it is configuration or certification of passenger seats.

"the rule is domestic TAWS A & B are a requirement as applicable in March."

In the spirit of the above highly informative post, I make the following bold statement and wait to be corrected;

All rules are effective as applicable.

So are you suggesting TAWS is not applicable per your first post? I ask as I thought it was, also waiting to be corrected.

The only TAWS effectivity for part 91 operators in March is TAWS B.
The effective date for part 91 operators to have TAWS for operating internationally was 1 Jan. All better now?

Ref Aviation International News - JAR-OPS 1.82 and ICAO Annex 6 & 10: As of 1/1/05 TAWS required in Europe - European Reg aircraft > 12,500 lbs or >9 seats in commercial ops require Class A TAWS.

Domestic - US - US reg. Turbine powered aircraft with 6 or more seats require Class B TAWS by 3/29/05. - 91.223. 135.154 is similar except seats 6-9 are Class B, > 10 seats Class A.

I don't have the ICAO references to verify the above quote.
