From my discussions with guys that fly for them, you will need to know someone that works there. From talking to guys that work for them, they are very selective and only hire referrals from existing staff, on the rare occasion they have an open position.

They seem to take real good care of their people, customers and equipment, so they rarely have open positions except through growth.

Someone who works there would know better, but I have met a half dozen pilots that work for them, and all tell this same story.

Anybody have any info on Tag Aviation in terms of hiring and so on and so forth?

There is (was?) a Falcon 2000 second pilot position in Seattle. It is my understanding that they want a local person.

I've flown as a contract pilot for several TAG accounts, although not for a couple of years.

In the past, anyway, each account was a separate deal, and it was usually up to the lead captain on the account, so there was lots of variation. As a general rule, they really like military guys, particularly Marine Aviators.

Likewise, QOL was totally dependent on the account. Some were good, some were bad.

I have flown for TAG Aviation in the past and have found them to be an excellent company to work for. On the leading edge of corporate flight operations with an excellent staff of management folks, both in SFO and White Plains. Yes they are dominated by a group of former military pilots with some pretty outstanding credentials. A number of former airline guys in that group as well.

While they attempt to set a standard for each class of aircraft that they operate on behalf of the various owners there can be a significant difference depending on whether or not the aircraft is on a Part 135 certificate. Like all coporate jobs the QOL issues can vary tremendously from account to account. All in all I would be very happy to rejoin this company if the occasion were to araise.

I think they are or were trying to fill a slot at KBFI for a Falcon 2000 as well as a Hawker 800 crew in KLGB.

While the management cadre at TAG Aviation have a lot of Marines/Navy/Air Force pilots within it's ranks, they still actively recrute from the civilian sector. There are many excellent pilots with strictly civilian backgrounds flying for TAG. The initial founders were Marines and many of them are still there strictly in management roles but there sure is not any ban or prejudice against civilian pilots.
