Currently I'm at 1142 TT, but 492 hours were logged as tach time. Apparently it common to use a 1.2X conversion factor. The additional time then would allow me to meet Pt. 135.243c minimums. I meet every other requirement such as night, XC and instrument time. I'd like to start applying to 135 operators. If I were to do this, how should I record this change in my logbook?

Do it. It's all on paper and if you don't have the skill (I'm not saying that you don't) you'll wash out. Time is nothing. Just numbers.

Sorry I didn't finish reading your post. I guess if you log each flight as it happens you're screwed. You can't really change previous entries. But now you know. Do whatever it takes.

That’s a tough one. You could make a notation in your logbook on the last page where you made a mistake and change the bottom number totals on subsequent pages (assuming you’ve done those in pencil, which I highly recommend).

On the other hand you’re talking about 100 hours. Unless you can make it look good in your logbook, you might just have to bite the bullet and live with your mistake. In the mean time, go back to your old instructors and give’em a kick in the a$$.

The conversion is more like 1.15 but 1.2 should work. The most important part is to make it look "professional" in your logbook and not "parker pen whipped".

Using 1.2
1142-492=650

492X1.2=590.4

650+590.4=1240.4 "new TT"

or using 1.15
1142-492=650

492X1.15=565.8

565.8+650=1215.8 "new TT"

Good Luck
