Hey everyone. I'm currently a student at ERAU in daytona and am seriously considering going to Tab and finishing up over there in there 11 month direct hire program. I am SERIOUSLY torn on what to do. Stay at riddle or go to TAB.

someone please help. thanks

Given those two choices stay at Riddle, but it is way cheaper to get your degree in any state university and do your rating in a good FBO or flight school. I recomend you check Epic in New Smyrna.
As far as TAB, do a search here, stay away from them, the will take all your money.

a search on this board will produce mostly negative opinions, perspectives, and experiences with TAB.

I don't have any insight into their program, but have always been curious how they have been able to advertise this airline for years... an airline that doesn't even exist. Where's everyone who went through the TAB program 1-2yrs ago? Not flying as a FO for TAB, that's for sure.

Tab has lost all of their bridges. Tab doesn't even bridge to Colgan anymore. Stay at Riddle, Tab will steal from you.

Thanks.

I do not at all believe there ploy of Airline Direct. You are correct, they still operate 135 I think.

But I have been doing some thinking. What is undisputable is I will come out with about 2400 BE-1900 time.(assuming I sign there 4 yr emp. contract) Do you think I would be marketable enough to come out of there and try to get hired somewhere else. Say Great Lakes Airlines.

PS I was quoted a total price of 90,000 dollars,(minus 12,000 for a type rating) which I was told would be refunded if I signed the 4 yr contract, and would be returned at the end of the 4 yrs. I dont get how they would refund all that and be in business

If you want to invest that to start off at $14000 a year, you're obviously not getting a business degree.

choke..

exactly, regardless of what kind of time you'll get, are you comfortable coughing up $90k on the promise they'll give it back to you? What if TAB closes its doors and goes out of business? Someone on this board said TAB mgmt is the same people who screwed over many at ATA.

Heck, for a fraction of that $90k you could build a goodly amount of quality multi time.
