I find it interesting that Skywest stock is at a three month high when it's clear the company will be spending more on compensation at ASA.

So much for the claim that a pay raise would negatively impact the shareholders.

Labor unrest at ASA may be settled soon. That would make any shareholder happy. Especially since SKW, Inc. will continue making money hand over fist.

If I were a share holder of SKYW, I'd be PISSED OFF! Record profits every quarter and a piddly little dividend? Gimme a break! So much for the rules of a public company: Satisfy the shareholders, satisfy the customer, satisfy the labor. It's more like satisfy Jerry, satisfy the executive board, make the employees drink the cool aid, cram in the pax.

A lot of investors don't care about dividends. They'd rather have the money reinvested into the business to get more growth so that the share price goes up instead. Personally, I prefer getting a dividend, but it's just not as common as it used to be.

Well, the TA hasn't been approved yet so it's not big in the media yet. The stockholders are probably mostly unaware at this point. I just sold yesterday at $26. Paid a bit over $21 in July so the stock purchase plan did pretty well this time around. Did ASA get the stock purchase plan or did they already have it?

We've had it for about a year and a half now.

There is no doubt that the analysts and institutional investors who follow SKYW know about the TA. And obviously they haven't placed any sell orders based on this TA's impact on the bottom line.

For the dense who are missing my point, let me try and be more clear. Contrary to what managment wants you to think, a pay raise at Skywest will NOT adversely affect the company or the stocks performance.
