Are any of you aviators on the T-Mobile network?

I'm considering getting the FamilyTime plan from them.

I'm currently flying 135 all over the country, but mostly on the east coast.

Any info about reception/etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

T-Mobile is Voice Stream...

It is amazing what a new name and the looks of Catherine Zeta Jones can sell. T-Mobile is actually the new name for the old Voice Stream. I believe Deutsche Telekom bought out Voice Stream last year. I doubt much has changed in the way of coverage. However, I am sure the customer service side has greatly improved.

T Mobile...

Hey there,

I've been using T Mobile (formerly Voicestream) for a little over a year now and have been happy with my service. As far as coverage goes, I haven't had any real problems with them. Way up in the UP of Michigan and Roanoke are the only places that I've had no service, everywhere else was fine. I fly mainly in the Midwest and Eastern US, so I'm not sure what coverage is like out west.
They've got a new nationwide plan right now: no long distance or roaming fees, 600 anytime minutes and free nights and weekends for $40, not bad IMHO.
I hope that was what you were looking for, if not ask more or PM me and I'll do my best to help. See ya!

Very Happy with T-mobile

I have used a lot of mobile phone operators and I like T-mobile the best. I work for a 135 operator and go all over. With the family plan your calls home and to other t-mobile customers are free. Really good coverage around US.

My 2 cents...

I got T-Mobile service about two months ago- 3000 ANYTIME minutes on a regional plan for $39.99 was pretty hard to pass up. I believe this was the "holiday" promotion and it wasn't expected to be around very long. Worth checking into though since that is quite afew "anytime" (day or night) minutes for the price. Free internet access as well > you are given like 500 internet pages a month or 500 emails to send- something along those lines.......

I would also suggest the V-66 by Motorola which is one of the smallest if not the smallest phone on the market. I have been very pleased with the service so far.

I switched to T-Mobile (Family Plan) from Sprint. So far I really like the plan, especially where calling my wife's phone doesn't cost minutes. No problem in coverage that I've seen so far, in fact, the phone works in Europe as well (for a nominal  fee).

So far I've found the coverage better than Sprint. Anywhere away from an interstate and Sprint's coverage falls off rapidly.

I'm using the Samsung R255, small, compact and comfortable to use, especially with hands-free.

This site is run by one of those consumer advocate guys. There are links to five sites that will compare plans and phones in your area. I think the one called Letstalk.com had customer reviews as well.
