Since I'm unemployed now, I've got plenty of time to compile a list ofPoolies. Talking to Givvit and searching threads, it looks likethis:

Interviewees:

Sep 20,21,22: 12 per day
Oct 11,12,13,14,18,19,20,21,25,26,27,28: 12 per day
Nov 15,16,17,18: 18 per day
Dec 6,7,8,9,10,13,14,15,16,17: 12 per day
Jan 10,11,12,13,17,18,19,20,24,25,26,27: 12 per day
Feb 7,8,9,10,14,15,16,17,21,22,23,24: 12 per day

If you interviewed on a day not listed, let me know. If you knowthat I'm missing a day, or have a day wrong, let me know. I'massuming 12 per day except November, a 66% hire rate, and classes of20. I should have a class forecast ready by tomorrow.

Thanks for all the PMs. I need to confirm that there were interviewstheweek of 04 jan. Anyone interview on 5,6, or 7 jan? Without thosedatesincluded, assuming 66% hire rate (8 per day) and 3 classes of 20permonth, here's the class schedule:

Class: Interview Date:
16-Feb: 16-21 sep
23-Feb: 22sep- 11oct
2-Mar: 11-13 oct
9-Mar: 14-19oct
16-Mar: 19-21 oct
6-Apr: 25-27 oct
13-Apr: 27oct- 15nov
20-Apr: 15-17 nov
4-May: 17-18 nov
11-May: 6-8 dec
18-May: 8-10 dec
1-Jun: 10-14 dec
8-Jun: 15-17 dec
15-Jun: 10-12 jan
6-Jul: 12-17 jan
13-Jul: 18-20 jan
20-Jul: 20-25 jan

Note: March and June have 5 wednesdays in them, so that may mean 4 classes those months.

Please keep sending me updated information and I'll keep refiningthis. If anybody wants the underlying spreadsheet, pm me. Hope this isuseful!

IMPORTANT AMENDMENT:

I have been informed by several sources that the 66% that I had heard is an optimistic number. The last thing I want to do is provide misleading information. An experienced SWA pilot told me it's closer to 50%, and someone else said it's closer to 40%. I make no claim to know, and am merely using what I've heard from (I must admit) sources as uninformed as I am. We can run the numbers any way we want, and it's still unquestionably up to the People Department and the Powers at SWA. I'll re-run the numbers at 50%, and leave it up to each individual to interpret this as conservative, and subtract a class or two from their date, or as optimistic and add a class or two. Any better ideas, let me know. This is all just a giant wag anyway. Remember the folks that swam for two years? Yikes!

Good work Harley,

At least gives me a general idea of when to expect a class. Keep up the good work. If it helps I was on the Nov 15 with 17 interviewing that day. (One no show)

Throw me on the poolie list if you haven't already.

12/14 interview.

Where can we view this list (or can we)? I'd be curious to know how many out of my interview group got the nod.

Here's the adjusted dates assuming 50% hire rate. I am sorry to passalong that I have received info from several sources, though, that tellme that the hire rate is actually less than 50%. I'm not going to passthese estimates along, because they can't all be right and that meansmost or all of these estimates are wrong. So, in the interest of notpropagating bad info, I'm getting out of the forecasting business. These dates below are ballpark only, assume 50% hire rate, everybodyshowed up for the interviews, everybody can attend the first classthey're offered, and SWA chooses to initiate a class on each of thefirst 3 wednesdays of each month only. So what I'm saying is that Ifound that the harder I tried to generate reliable dates, the lessreliable I realized they were. So post it when you get called for aclass, and when you interviewed, and we can all keep up. As GeorgeCastanza said: 'I'm out! Thank you and goodnight!"

Class: Interview Date:
16-Feb 16-22 sep
23-Feb 22sep- 13oct
2-Mar 13-19 oct
9-Mar 19-25 oct
16-Mar 25oct- 15nov
6-Apr 15-17 nov
13-Apr 17nov- 6dec
20-Apr 6-9 dec
4-May 9-14 dec
11-May 14-17dec
18-May 17dec - 13jan
1-Jun 13-19jan

ps- if you want the spreadsheet, just pm me with your email address andI'll email it to you. It's not fancy- I typed everything in manually. No formulas to tweak. You can do it on a piece of paper more easily, probably.

HG,

Great Job. To all those pessimists out there bashing HG, I recommended a 60-70% rate based on Sept hire rate which I was told by a FO at SWA was 66.6666667% and 9 of 12 on my interview date in Oct. I realize the traditional rate falls between 35-40%. I think his correction to 50% was right on if not a little conservative. The data below can be used to continue this thread. The bold #'s are generated from other threads on this website or people that I have personally talked to about their interview date. This is to be used us gouge for future planning and not a thread to throw darts! If anybody wants to further this thread, feel free. I plan to be in Dallas by Spring Break (which is different depending on where you live).

Thanks,

Givvit

BOLD is confirmed from people that interviewed on those dates, not bold is a 50% guess

16-Feb: 16 sep
23-Feb: 16 sep(3), 20 Sep(6), 21 Sep(6), 22 Sep(5)
2-Mar: 22 Sep(1), 23 Sep(5), 11 Oct(6), 12 Oct(8)
9-Mar: 12 Oct(1), 13 Oct(6), 14 Oct(5), 18 Oct(6), 19 Oct(2)
16-Mar: 19-21 oct
6-Apr: 25-27 oct

Great job guys...well done...either way, it's all precision guesswork as MANY things can and will change between now and then.

For what it is worth, I was told by the People Department this week that for the Jan DB there were 170 applicants who made it to the board but only 75 were asked to stay. That puts the Jan board at around 44%

Just practicing by back stroke until a class date!

Givvit:
I went through with your bold numbers, got my 16 Feb error fixed (thanks to the 3 folks that called me on it) and come up with dates very close to yours. I'm actually one class sooner after 16 march. This, plus the fact that the 50% assumption gives us 96 poolies from the Jan DB. If word on the street (70-75 actually hired) is true, then everybody could be called one or perhaps two classes ahead of your dates. Plus, if some military folks can't get out yet, that would move some folks up too. Plus, if SWA decides to run 4 classes in march (5 wednesdays), it could also move some folks up. So what I'm saying is I think your dates are a good, safe estimate, and I hope to see people called even sooner. Thanks to everyone for all the data! See you in Big D!

HG

I'm sure things have changed a lot since the book "Nuts" was published.

"Nuts" says that Southwest typically only hires about 25% of the people it interviews!

Whatever the Hiring practices are at Southwest.... apparently it works very very well. Company has been profitable for over 30 years straight and has not had an Accident since the beginning. Thats the best record in the business. Impressive to say the least!!
