SWA pool and hiring

1. How many are currently in the pool?
2. Of those, how many will accept a call and how many have moved on to other things?
3. Thoughts on the size of the potential August class.
4. Thoughts on when the app window will open again.
5. What rate will hiring be in '04 and '05?
6. Would inviting Herb Kelleher to my home for Christmas this year improve my hiring chances?

4. 2004 or 2005 they have 6000 plus apps or maybe it was 8000.
5. 400 plus

Last I had heard, there were around 3,000 apps on file, of which 500-600 had the 73-type. Are there really 6,000 on file now? And if so, how many of those have the type rating?

Flew with a Captain that's on the interview team and he mentioned that the pool stands around 150 - 160, did not give exact number...I wonder why?

On the flightinfo unofficial pool list...the count stands at 171.

I would guess that this number is a bit lower than the actual count. There are people out there that still have not heard of flightinfo.

get ready...

for a NEW and improved SWA hiring process, it IS coming soon.

Not going to start a bunch of bad rumors, but it could be quite different from what has been the "norm" in the past.

Training has commenced at HQ, expect details to follow this Fall at early end... by Jan '04 for sure. Get your keyboards ready, as future applications will likely be done via the internet.
