I interviewed in October...... Has anyone heard when the board will meet in November. Last I heard was sometime in the first two weeks of November, but have not heard anything lately.

Has anyone heard of getting the call without references being called?
This was my third time to interview and nothing has changed in my employment history since the last interview. Will they just look at the reference calls from last time?

Still patiently waiting>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

SWA PD called me yesterday for a reference check on another interviewee. I told them I also interviewed in Oct, and was curious about the Nov DB. I was told "in the first half of the month, so to finish the calls and letters before Thanksgiving."

I always appreciated info from others, so here is what it took me to get an interview:
10K+ TT
3K+ PICTurbine
3K+ 737
8K+ Turbine
737 type 8/03
737 PI
furloughed 9/03, app 1/04, phone call 9/04, interview 10/04
multiple CP office visits by friends

I'll post the "continue or letter" as appropriate.

I heard the DB for Nov. would be on the 16th-17th..... but I've been known to hear lots of voices in my head also! :D

What's "737 PI"? Pilot Instructor? Principal Inspector as in FAA designee? Inquiring minds want to know...

WakeTurb,

I too interviewed in Oct, and have had no "calls" yet. I am wondering the same thing. Several of my co-interveiwees have recieved calls but not me. In my case all my references also provided written letters of referral, so I wonder if that has pre-empted the need to call references.
Patiently waiting in Wichita . . . .

thanks for the replys guys>

Shorty,

I'm in the same boat. All my references also wrote recommendation letters, so hopefully they see it the same as calling.

Keep up the faith.

For the "inquiring minds"
PI/IP - Pilot Instructor/Instructor Pilot, depends on whose jargon you use, civilian/military. Part 142 B737 systems ground school and simulator instructor, to be specific.
POI is a Part 121 Principle Operators Inspector.

Thought I'd save someone the trouble and go ahead and drag out this thread from last year. It should work for 2005, too, right? I'm all for the reuse/recycle/re... there's another re-something they teach the kids in school now, isn't there? Anyway, I'm all for it. Why start a new thread when this one will work just fine?

After all, there was a SWA Oct DB thread sitting in the closet there collecting dust, and while it could have been returned to service for 2005, it just sits there now languishing in the dust bin. That's no way to treat a perfectly good thread, is it?

:)
