The legendary Bob Torti resigns this week and my question is who's next? The only reason I ask is here is the fact that the AirTran training dude has been in DAL a lot, so I've heard. I was told by a new hire that he was telling our new hires at the hotel that they were stupid for coming to SWA. If they would have gone to AAI they'd be better off and more senior. Hearsay, I know....just sayin'. Dave Van What's His Nuts? All I remember is the Dave Van part.

I think it's a little weird the timing of this whole thing. Bob has some real fans and friends among the pilots. I hope the next guy is a fan of pilots and not a screamer, build the airplane kind of guy.

Van Martzen. Not a chance of surviving the cut.

Yeah, it's that dude and he's Bob Torti's equivalent at AirTran so I am told.

He is not anything close to your guy BT, he's our own special "bagdad bob" nothing he says is true. Whenever his name is mentioned most pilots just laugh and shake their head I doubt seriously SWA would ever consider him for any management job. That said the real guy at AT that you want to replace BT is Our director of ops (JM) he is first class.

Yup. JM leads by example, and he actually seeks input from Pilots . . . . what a concept.

Most likely, anyone hired from this point forward, at either airline, will simply get DOH.

In regard to JM or BT, every airline has one or more! The interesting thing is, Pilots, like Jerry Springer followers, love rumors and sensationalism. Furthrmore, the National Enquirer is still in business the last time I checked, proving the point, that BS sells! Pilots are no different--even though we are suppose to be edumocated and intellijent!
