SWA guys/no degree?

Might be impossible to answer, but what is the percentage of SWA interviewees and pilots that do not have a degree?

Does Southwest look down on folks without a degree?

No degree?

My mentor in aviation and flight instructor flies for Southwest and does not have a degree. This has been asked before and many people have written about it. If you do a search you'll find more information. It states "preferred" on the website as opposed to "required". You should apply and if it is within your reach get a four year degree since it would make you more competitive not only at Southwest but at other airlines where it could be required. If you decide not to get a degree, ask yourself why would an airline desire a degree? Then make sure you have those attributes that they are seeking (i.e. discipline, dedication, study habits, etc...). Above all, good luck...

I was hired without a four year degree. Not once in the interview was it brought up. SWA wants to know you as a person and not what some piece of paper says. I was a little nervous before the interview but SWA made me feel at home. Good luck to everyone and don't be affraid if you don't have a four year. I know a bounch of people like myself don't have a four year.
