Position Title: Manager Dispatch Training and Standards - Dallas, TX
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
  • Work Activities/Context:
    • Provides friendly service to and maintains positive relationships with all internal and external Customers.
    • Works in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our Company.
    • Provide leadership and guidance in the daily operation of the Flight Dispatch department.
    • Prepares and obtains FAA approval for the dispatcher training program including basic, initial and recurrent.
    • Instructs and/or monitors all instruction for dispatch training sessions including competency and proficiency checks.
    • Develops training programs and methods for enhancement of dispatch training.
    • Maintains records and information as required by FAR's.
    • Oversees and/or develops standards for the Flight Dispatch Department.
    • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
    • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • Experience: Minimum five years Dispatch experience at a major carrier.
  • Licensing/Certification: Must be a licensed Aircraft Dispatcher under Federal Guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Education: College coursework or degree preferred.
  • Skills/Abilities/Knowledge/Work Style:
    • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
    • Must be able to work well with others as part of a Team.
    • Excellent people skills; team player.
    • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills in support of a large operational staff.
    • Must be able to work under tight time constraints and stressful and/or emergency situations.
    • In-depth knowledge of Southwest Airlines Dispatch.
  • Other Qualifications:
    • Must be available to work varying hours.
    • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance.

Kind of hard to have an "In-depth knowledge of Southwest Airlines Dispatch" if you are from the outside, isnt it?
