Position Title: Manager Dispatch Training and Standards - Dallas, TX
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Work Activities/Context:
- Provides friendly service to and maintains positive relationships with all internal and external Customers.
- Works in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our Company.
- Provide leadership and guidance in the daily operation of the Flight Dispatch department.
- Prepares and obtains FAA approval for the dispatcher training program including basic, initial and recurrent.
- Instructs and/or monitors all instruction for dispatch training sessions including competency and proficiency checks.
- Develops training programs and methods for enhancement of dispatch training.
- Maintains records and information as required by FAR's.
- Oversees and/or develops standards for the Flight Dispatch Department.
- Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Experience: Minimum five years Dispatch experience at a major carrier.
- Licensing/Certification: Must be a licensed Aircraft Dispatcher under Federal Guidelines.
- Education: College coursework or degree preferred.
- Skills/Abilities/Knowledge/Work Style:
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
- Must be able to work well with others as part of a Team.
- Excellent people skills; team player.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills in support of a large operational staff.
- Must be able to work under tight time constraints and stressful and/or emergency situations.
- In-depth knowledge of Southwest Airlines Dispatch.
- Other Qualifications:
- Must be available to work varying hours.
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance.
