Just wondering if the employee buyout is available for all
employees, including pilots.
Would be nice for the junior guys if the seniority list became a little less top heavy.
If it is available for pilots, what are the terms?
The latest one at AA only got rid of a couple hundred, even
though the offer was to stay home for a whole year and get paid 75 hrs a month.

According to the documentation we are seeing, all employees who are not officers of the company and have at least 1 year of service are eligible. That would include pilots.

The offer consists of a combination of cash severance, extended medical benefits and extended pass priviliges. "Retiring" employees would receive a specific amountin cash for each year of service depending on the level of benefits they choose. The more medical, the less cash and vice versa.

There won't be a **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** pilot anywhere taking the buyout. We are still hiring pilots and FAs as fast as we can. The top $ figure was $1000 per year of service, along with some medical and pass benefits, so it is really just trying to entice people who are probably thinking about leaving to do just that, and the cash makes it that much easier to leave.
