just to keep it aviation oriented, I used Superman as my example. But anyway its a bit hot to go outside so boredom prevails and i ask this. This Superman guy goes far and above whats required to get the job done, but as a result he must burn an awful lot of calories. Walking up the stairs makes some of us winded a bit, and this guy Flys around, uses laser/X-ray vision (obviously some sort of military laser-radar variant, LIDAR?) and has phenominal strength. so the question remains....just how many calories a day does this guy have to eat? how many Met-Rx packets and powerbars and carbos does this guy live on?

Wow. We have reached an all-time low. How can you be a pilot and not know that Superman's strength comes from the SUN! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT! He stores the solar radiation from our sun which is what gives him his super powers. Ever noticed how nobody flew around or melted stuff with their eyes on Krypton? Please, think before you ask these questions, or at least do some research! Now...if you want to talk about calorie intake, the Flash has some interesting problems, and don't even get me started on the Incredible Hulk.

man, youre right.
i didn't think about the sun cause it burnt me up pretty good yesterday. i didnt want to remember the event. but what about overcast days? or does he pick up the ambient radiation in general? or direct sunlight? and say that at night time when the sun is on the other side of the planet where does he get it from? and theres got to be some sort of recovery period after a day of hardcore crime fighting. i mean there is a way he can overextend himself right? is there a gatorade or power bar for superman when he does this?

the flash, wow. is that dash speed or can he maintain that for extended periods of time?

that hulk character is a short term strength guy. he can tear it up for a while but he has to shrink back to Dr. Bannon eventually....Dr. Bannon must eat like crazy after that.

He stores the engergy from the sun. He's like a big capacitor. Most of the time he only requires a very small portion of his energy reserve, which is why so many people think he's immortal. He's not, however. When he battled Doomsday, he used up his energy reserve completely and, to all external appearances, died. As far as the flash is concerned...I hate to tell you this, but I don't think he's real.

Heh,

Matchbox 20 said it best: "I'd get this funky high from the yellow sun". There have been a lot of songs lately about old Supes....people dig him...an avatar of good, I suppose.

Nu

P.S. No evil will escape my sight.... Who can recite the rest?
