Former JetBlue Airways Corp. executive Alfred T. Spain will join the board of directors for Pinnacle Airlines Corp.

Spain was most recently senior vice president of operations for JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) and held many positions in the airline industry, the company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Spain will serve as a Class III director and will be up for re-election at the 2010 annual shareholders' meeting.

Among their compensation, Pinnacle directors receive an annual retainer of $25,000, a meeting attendance fee of $1,500 per meeting and reimbursement on all out-of-pocket expenses.

It has not been determined which, if any, board committees Spain will serve, according to the filing.

Memphis-based Pinnacle (NASDAQ: PNCL) is an airline holding company and is the parent company of Pinnacle Airlines Inc. and Colgan Air Inc. It is the largest regional airline operating at Memphis International Airport.
