When you are flying to TEB and its forcast to be IFR, how much, if any, extra fuel do you put on, as in how much over the normal one hour reserve do you feel you need?

We are trying to leave on friday, how much of a departure delay should we plan on if we are leaving mid-morning?

Thanks

If it's crap wx in TEB then so is every other place over there....and when it's been like that over the years I fuel to land at TEB at max landing weight.

It can sometimes be an issue if it's wet and 1/19 is closed, but on the C550 you're driving, it's a non issue.

As far as delays. You said a Fri. mid morning departure, and it can get a bit busy there on Fridays...it's just the nature of the beast.

I fly in and out of TEB on a regular basis. Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have not had more than a 30 minute delay since winter. I would say and an extra 30 minutes worth of fuel.

Gas, IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. hey maybe we can meet up, my bf, has a 16 day trip into tippyboro this week! if not, good luck!

Thanks for the advice all. Hopefully the weather will be better up there tomorrow than it was today, or at least looked today.

Don't forget, you WILL almost always be descended 200nm out or further...I always figure in extra fuel burn because of this.

I thought the other pilot didn't like TEB? I guess the owner overode the pilot on that one?

Yup, and I talked some sense into him. The last NYC trip went to TEB instead of HPN like I had asked about, and it went pretty good. For some reason we went to Signature that time, and had bad service (imagine that) so we are going to try Atlantic this time.

Go to Jet. They do a GREAT job with us .... but then again we always greet the line service staff with a Andrew Jackson .....

If you're a CAA member, Millionair is your best bet for a good fuel price. They have a brand new facility at TEB, and we find the service is excellent.

With the new Airspace Flow Program (AFP), the long waits are a thing of the past at TEB. WEll, you might still get the long waits, but know you know exactly when you are going to be lanuched and only have a 10 minute window to get airborne, 5 minutes either side of the departure time so the fuel is not necessary unless you just want to sit there and run your engines. Miss that window and you are back at the end of the line so your PAX must be on time or it will cost them dearly in terms of waiting. This is all part of the Severe Weather Avoidance Plan (SWAP), and went into effect on Monday, June 5th.

Let's do our homework guys..............

Ditto that on Jet Aviation. Atlantic is a good FBO at MDW, but I have never used them at TEB, but I'd imagine the service is just as good.

Is Millionair Meridian Aviation now? I just got back from a 3day trip to Teterhole. They had good service for how busy that place is. It was my first time, and I was impressed. It looks like a carrier full of biz jets out there with how close everyone is parked. We had a 45 min ground delay Wednesday and put us about 1:15 behind schedule. Was horrible weather. Getting in on Monday was great, no issues at all.

The new Meridian FBO is sweet. If you have to spend any time there, I recommend the theatre room with 100 DVD changer on the second floor. Just watched "Wedding Crashers", again...

Made it in and out again, we had no wait whatsoever at the end of the runway, just held in position for about 30 seconds. Got vectored halfway to Albany coming in, but no holding or anything.

I had to hold on the Jaike arrival the other day.. In severe clear WX. One turn in holding for "traffic saturation". God I hate the northeast.
