A pos was made a few months back about stock picks. I had just purchased Starbucks SBUX and posted it. Its been up about 25% since. Anyone buying anything they'd like to share? I feel SBUX is still a good buy.

That post was for a finite period of time (27 Jul - 31 Dec 2005).

I couldn't find any aviation stocks I would BUY today but the are some I would feel good about holding (CAL, SKYW for instance - MAYBE AMR)

There are several I would buy today:
APT at or below 2.65
GPN at or below 51.20
CRS between 82.25 and 84.72

Of those three CRS is the only one I would feel good about recommending through 30 June 2006.

Steve, are you still recommending SBUX?

I feel SBUX will still perform better then the overall market for 2006. Its still very much a growing company. I put a few grand into it about a year ago and if i had any more $$ I would buy more.

A little on the risky side (probably not for the long term investor) but USXP has done me well here in the last few weeks. After buying at .0005 it is up over .02 today...was up to .04 Monday. Beware though, "pink sheets" can be nerve wracking!!!

If you like trading on margin, there are two short sells I would recommend:

Google and SkyWest. Any other publicly traded regional would be a good short. The finance guys at the majors are starting to figure out how to shop capacity, and as they become more efficient at it, I would expect the regionals to begin to really feel the pinch. There was even an article in the WSJ yesterday highlighting the fee for departure schemes that run the regional bottom lines are on the way out.

My united stock has increased over the last couple of weeks but i would not recommend them.
