Just was wondering about the school--I'm originally from San Antonio, but I'm in Dallas right now for college. Over the summer I was thinking about getting my instr. comm. and cfi so I could instruct while in college. I was browsing through the website, didn't see any cfi programs. I might also consider getting my CFII and MEI over the summer as well. I'll be coming down to San Antonio again probably this weekend or early next week, so I'd also like to come check out the school.
The prices seem really reasonable...as opposed to some options I've looked into. I was also curious about the number of CFI's and just the reputation of the school in general. Would it be possible to do all this over one summer...comm, inst, cfi, possibly cfii and mei as well....and if so how much would I have to fly per week...just a ballpark figure. I would also like to do the inst and comm at the same time...is it possible for the two programs to be incorporated?
I think you will like the school. There are currently 14 full time fixed wing instructors and a handful of part time guys. Depending on your current times, you might be able to accomplish the Inst/Commercial and initial CFI over the summer. I would count on practically living at SSF if you really want to get all this done. Should schedule at least 5 flights every week. Suggest the Instrument and then the commercial. Part 61, you can combine the ratings, as long as you have at least 40 hours for the instrument and 250 tt with 50 x/c PIC for the commercial. PM me with your e-mail if you want more detail.
