You guys still have a starship? Where are you getting parts for that thing. I thought raytheon took them all back?

How many Starships are still in operation? Does Rutan still have his?

I'd hold on to it. It's going to be worth a mint someday. I think there are 5 left in circulation. They can only go up in value.

There is one parked in BHM. That is the only one I have seen in a few years. I think it will be relegated to the local museum.

Yeah, I thought Beech bought them all back and gave the owners killer deals on KA's. But I suppose some folks, for whatever reason, said no.

Heard through the grapevine that the position had been filled and the JSFirm ad was to comply with EEOC regs...any truth to the rumor???

Eric

The one in BHM doesn't have any engines

There are actually only 4 left.

You were thinking pacer, but I think it's more of a Gremlin X with a 401 in it. If the four left are held on to, they will be in airshows in 30 years, probably parked next to an eclipse 500 or a premier(starship II). Raytheon is kind of like the AMC of aviation.

Small world...

I just chatted with their CP yesterday. Hmmm.

Seemed like a nice fellow.

AMC has a flight department? Must be based at Kenosha... ;) TC

Pacer, Gremlin..........Hansa Jet!

Has anyone been to TOL FS lately? I always thought Grand Aire (across from FS) should quit flying cargo and open up the worlds only "Hansa Museum"

My wife and I were walking around munich and went into the munich transportation musueum. It's really cool aviation, trains, cars, pretty much everything german.

So we're walking around and I see this plane in the floor center. My wife asked me what it was. I couldn't believe it they had a hansa jet. Holy crap it was all dressed up in the museum.

Then I remembered that Grand Aire had a bunch of them. The wing looked pretty cool to fly.

Since the GAire owner crashed the last semi flying Hansa in the US, the only air- worthy Hansa is now flying in Turkey. It was funny, AIN Alert had an article about how the FAA put out an AD on the Hansa jet last month........even though none are currently flying in the US.

Starships parked at MZJ

Check out Pinal Air Park (MZJ) in Arizona. It's about half way between Phoenix and Tucson. They have a lot of Starships parked out there, maybe 20 or so. It's a cool airplane graveyard, and you can even land there, you just can't get out and walk around.
