Anyone have any recommendations on place to stay and eat? I imagine the scuba is awesome. Also, any tips or things to watch out for?

Are you talking about that place in the Caribbean?

Do they have more than one airport on that island?

I flew in there at American Eagle in the 1997/1998 time period. Now, I hear that it is off limits to American Eagle because the Feds shut the ops there down. We had the only exemption I know of where you could take-off with 15 knots of tailwind..(or was it 20 kts, anyway)..which was in excess of the A/C's limit of 10 kts.

Anyway there is a great pizza place withing 10 minutes of the airport. Open beach side seating and any adult beverage you can think of too.

Used a guy named Douglas (or Tiny...which he was not) for transportation. He knew all the hot spots. He also drove a 4 door Toyota Cam.

The best hotel on the island is just across the bay from the airport. Great place. The only one just next (across the water) from the airport if memory serves me right.

Good place to spend a couple of days.

I didn't scuba there. I snorkeled a bit....not as good as the other islands on visibility. Probably the time of year I snorkeled.

Anyway, What are you flying into there?

It is one way in and one way out. You take-off with a tailwind due to rising terrain on a inland takeoff.

Have fun.

We stayed at www.beachcombershotel.com . Nice little place. Clean rooms. The best air conditioner of any hotel. Small pool. Its own beach. Its own restaurant and bar. Its is NOT a big, fancy resort, just a nice little hotel. Walk down the street about a mile or two, and there is a real neat little bar, with Mr. Rasta Man.

It is a neat place, with extremely nice people.

And yeah, the airport is half the fun.
