I would like to start out thanking anyone who has responded to my questions-you have been an unbelievable help. I have be trying to help others with the modest knowledge I have gained on my journey with avaition and will continue to do so.
Again, although my recruiter is a great guy, I know enough from my prior service to take everything he says with a grain of salt.
I am trying to get sponsored by a unit(s) that are evidently deployed for the time being. My recruiter (for the AF reserve) says that he has a recruiter friend in the neck of the woods that I am looking at and they have no one there to interview or sponsor me. This seems logical enough but I can't imagine that there is no one at the unit. I have been on a few deployments myself in the army and know that there are always a few individuals that stay back to keep the unit running administratively.
Should I contact the unit(s) directly? How will being sponsored vs unsponsored affect my chances with the board? I'll take it any way I have to-I just wanna fly!!
