I am looking for any info on 135 cargo jobs in the Spokane area. There is a good chance I will be moving up there next year. I know a little about Empire, so any other info would be much appreciated.

Airpac and Aeroflight, both out of BFI, have flights into Spokane. I believe they layover here during the day and fly out in the evening. Ameriflight does as well. As far as 135 freight companies based around here, I'd say Empire is the only game in town.

I've heard Airpac wants 1000/30 and a nine month stay. Aeroflight used to only hire from within, from the ranks of their CFI's. Empire is a quality company but not so easy for a low timer to get on with. Also, I would think Spokane is senior and you'd likely have to be based elsewhere at first.

Not even much in the way of CFI gigs around here. I might be able to help you do some free-lancing, especially if you are an A and P.

UND has a small operation but they only hire UND guys. Moody Bible is building a big hangar at Felts and moving their aviation training program here. Not sure what impact that's gonna have.

airpac

just a correction to de767ups... hehe

Airpac requires 135 IFR mins...1200 total 100 night and 75 inst. They like to see CFII's and don't really care much about multi time....I have been told anywhere from 30 to 50 hours multi is enough as long as you're solid on instruments. They're based out of Boeing Field in Seattle (11 pilots) and Spokane (1 pilot).

Other than that, he's right....Empire is the only cargo company based close to Spokane...Coeur 'D Alene (sp) actually.

The UND satellite in Spokane does not hire just UND grads. The Chief CFI there went through ATP.

All of the previous mentioned companies are good, but Spokane Airways has some 135 runs. Not sure how often though.

Stay away from Methow.

Do they still have anything going? I see their moth-balled 18's and Barons around.

Hey, what's up in EAT. My home town. What are you doin' there? Executive Flight?

I think Methow has been out of business for a while.

Airpac only has one of their flights based out of Spokane.. others pass through, but only one pilot lives there.. he has been there for 5 years or so doing the geg-lws run. All their other flights are based out of BFI with one out of SEA, so living in spokane wont work too well for them. Ameriflight had a chieftain based there a couple years ago.. might check with them. GEG-PDX flying nights back then... out at 8-9pm and back before daylight..

yeah, no more GEG-PDX at Ameriflight ( I wish that was still a run). At Airpac, however, I heard a rumor that the spokane guy got a corporate job and is now part time at Airpac....might be worth looking into. It's a Spokane based flight to and from Lewiston, ID.

PM me and I'll fill you in.

I would definitly look into Aeroflight-I know that they used to have pilots based at GEG-I think that they still do

Tvd @ Geg

MX base at SFF, and runs to GEG, but no Spokane-based pilots currently. Subject to change.
