I love it how pilots complain. (and have a.d.d.)

As far as I'm concerned, being fined for bumping too many passengers is a hell of alot better than most airlines can say about their operations, or rather, their attempt at ops compared to SW.

So SW bumps a few more than others....big woop....other airlines just piss people off with their fees, restrictive policies, and rude employees.

I don't work for Southwest but I am a frequent flier. 99.99999% of the time I have had contact with an employee it is a positive experience that keeps me coming back. Even once when my seat got given away because I wasn't at the gate in time. If I got bumped, after all these years flying on them, I'd be pissed, but it wouldn't be for long!

Viva Southwest. I love you!

I got hired without it. Hey Scope, should I have turned them down? It wasn't 8,000 either, more like 5. Made double that my first month on second year pay.

Enjoy all those RJ's!

Southwest's requirement that one must have a type rating is not PFT. PFT is when you actually pay the airline for training. PFT = Pay For Training. It's not that hard.

Southwest does not collect any money and there is no buying of jobs.

I know. I don't care what you call it; I LOVE it! It was worth every penny the tax payer put into it. You know what really sucks? I'm PFT'ing right now as my Son is working on his Private Pilots license. Not really, I'm happy to pay for it. I wonder how Scope got started without paying for anything?

Well appearently ScopefliesRJ's just couldn't afford to work at SWA after the huge a$$ paycut he took at Delta. I am sure he is stupid enough to have voted for the hugh contract that put them in bankruptcy. Shame he is so poor and a loser, maybe if he learns to budget he could get hired by SWA.......NO he would fail the interview because he is a loser!!

Moondong:
How's the job at swa?
When was the class date?
How much do they charge you to drive the lav truck? Or do you just do it because of your "luv" for them........:laugh::laugh:

Do you pay for your kids to be on certain sports teams? Did you pay for your wife initially?(not just dates, but a money transaction) What else is ok to pay for? Keep justifying it if it makes you feel better.

I don't think you should be allowed to open your manpleaser if the "coolest" thing you have flown is an E145 and you list 152/172/SR20 in your aircraft flown....

I'm just saying....

I can't believe I'm dipping to your level but you never paid for ONE HOUR of flight training or time building?

You truly are "the most interesting man in the world."

Gup

Ditto. Easiest business deal I've ever had to make.

If that's the definition- then I love PFT! While the haters get angry, I'll keep getting laid- and laugh my arse off at work- damn those laugh lines!

See the above response.....

I, for one, propose a $27,500 fine for EACH denied boarding to paid on the spot.

SWA doesn't collect any money, but they also don't spend as much. Great slip of the hand trick there waka.
a

It's not a trick at all.....just a simple fact. It seems that you have a problem with facts. PFT is only when you pay the employer for the job.

Your criteria seems to be that the company must spend some arbitrary amount of money on type ratings. What if somebody didn't have to pay for their 737 type rating because they got it at a previous employer? SWA would still not "spend as much". So, on the books, it makes no difference to SW whether one had to pay for their type rating or not.

Now, with an airline that is truly PFT, it would not matter what ratings and experience you bring with you. i.e. Comair in the 90's; You could have 20,000 hours and 20 type ratings that includes Brasilia's and CRJ's. At one time, you'd still have to pay. Continental Express in the 90's, same thing. There was a time in their PFT days that experience and qualifications didn't matter....just one's willingness to write a check.

That is the real definition of PFT.

Well, at least I'm giving it, instead of taking it like delta pilots like to do

scope: "oh mr Anderson! Give it to me, give me those paycuts, dirty Dick- hmmm feels so good(!) I love it so much when you cut our pay in half, furlough our guys and then outsource their jobs to DCX...more! More!"
;-)
that's ok- maybe one day you'll get to the 777 and make close to what I do flying that guppy to Amarillo
