Under the Transportation Security Administration Info section they ask if you have EVER had any traffic violations. I have had a few but they do not show up on my record and I would never remember when the happened or even how many and what I have had. Does anyone have any advice on what to put here.

Put every ticket you ever had-just as the questions says. A pilot at my airline was offered the job at SWA and then had the offer rescinded when they found items in his past he hadn't put on the app. I think some or all of those items were moving violations. They don't care what you put down as long as you are honest and you take responsibility. Don't blow a job by lying.

I guess I wasnt that clear on my first question. My record comes back as clear and I have no Idea how to find these tickets that I got 8 to 10 or even more years ago. I think that most states only keep these on record for 5 years. But If Southwest or TSA can find these old tickets somewhere I must be able to get the same info. Any Ideas????

This subject was discussed at length some months ago. I believe that the conclusion was that you just state that you had a few tickets in the past (assuming that you really don't know the exact dates) and give them approximate dates for the violations. I did just that. No, I haven't been called yet, but I only applied last July.

Good Luck,

I was in the same situation...my most recent violation was 21 years ago. I listed my violations as best as I could remember, then added the caveat that the "dates are my best guess" to the application. It worked for me!:D

Simply list something like "I think I had 1-2 speeding tickets over 8 years ago as best I can remember." The key thing is the tickets aren't going to hurt, it will only hurt if they find something it seems you tried to hide. If they end up finding old tickets even if the count was 1 or so off, if you listed your best guess effort for old tickets you won't be in trouble. If you list nothing it implies you are saying you NEVER got a ticket, and SWA knows if you got a ticket, no matter how long ago, you won't forget that you got a ticket "sometime in your life." Blank means: I never got a ticket in my life. How many people can say that? :)
