Anyone have a source for instrumentation decals? Such as "HDG" and "CRS" on King DGs, 25 Hz on radio tuning knobs, etc. Also for standard decals like COMM 1, 2, ON, OFF, VOL, TEST, arrows, etc. Other than a generic label maker.

If you're talking about the knobs themselves, you might consider removing the knobs and taking them to an engraver...the kind that does trophies and wedding bands and plaques. Especially with the computer laser engraving today, it can be done on very small surfaces, and comes out looking good.

Most of the knobs can be removed with an allen wrench (hex key)...depends on what you've got. If you have to pull the whole instrument, laser is the best choice because you really don't want vibration on the instrument.

Some kits are available out there to make decals and placards these days that can be printed on a home laser printer. I don't have a source for that material, but you can probably find it at an office supply place.

Are you seeking small stickers, or small letters to make up words? Are you looking for placards to put on the glass or on the panel?

For panel placards, small plastic or bronze placards can be made up, engraved, which look very professional, and can easily be colored and engraved to match whatever else is on the panel.
