does anone know how song is doing?
i heard that delta is thinking to stop song operations in a few months.

saviboy,

Song has been doing fairly well, atleast that is what we have been told. Delta does not have to disclose the financial picture of Song, but there have been published articles as of late that have said it has been doing well and actually made a profit on its own in the first quarter. Our Delta CEO---Gerry Grinstein, originally did NOT like the idea of Song---saying he didn't like the seperate brand issues, or the dilution of the Delta brand. Then, after the Song President--John Salvaggio, showed him the numbers and how they were supposedly improving, Grinstein made an about face and now has been telling the employees that he may in fact stick with Song. The product is good (I fly the Song flights as an FO quite often), and the passengers love the IFE. Even the food is good, which is under a "food for purchase" plan that actually makes money for us. (we have also started that on mainline) I think Grinstein is trying to look at the "over all" picture and hopefully come up with a good plan that would involve good competition and going forward. This, of course, would be after we take some sort of pay cuts and get costs in order......

I think Song will continue and maybe grow on the West Coast.
We shall see......

Bye Bye--General Lee;)
