You did notify the FBI in addition to the TSA and your outfit's security folks I hope. TSA has a way of sitting on their azzes whilst bad guys do whatever they want.

Its always funny to know that some petty theft or vandalism becomes a felony and act against aviation because the idiot happened to grab the wrong suitcase or break into the wrong car.

Of course you could be somewhere where if no one was killed the police just ignore the crime, i.e. a hit & run in L.A. Or they'll not spend their time even hunting down the SOB unless you got a full license plate number, the number comes back valid, and the car is sitting in their driveway on one of the routine patrols.

If you do find him, be careful!

I got into work today and our accounting person called me aside - She raises Rottweilers in a kennel in her yard. She has two, her dog, and her son's puppy, which was 9 months old. Apparenly yesterday she came home to find that someone had taken the chain off the kennel and taken both dogs. Her husband (who is a preacher) and her took off looking, and they found two boys walking their dog a few blocks over. Took both boys and the dog back to her house and held them for the police. The oldest boy was 11 and the younger was 8. The oldest kept saying "I'll come back and kill all you mother**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**ers, I'm hardcore, you're all as good as dead, my friends will come kill you niggers", etc etc but they thought he was just talking smack. After a few minutes the cops showed up and put them in a patrol car. After they were in the car the cops said "You people are the stupidest people alive. You should have called us as soon as you saw them, and never let them see your faces. You know both of those kids had handguns, right?"

Both of them were carrying 45s. Neither had the guts to pull the trigger, but if they had, we'd be burying our accountant and her husband today.

The really lousy part is the puppy is nowhere to be found; Apparently the kids sold it to their drug dealer, who planned to make it a fighting dog. The kids wanted the older dog for their own. These are 8 and 11 year old boys!

These people don't give a **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** about killing you for the $400 or so they'll get for your stuff. That $400 is the next drug fix, and they'll walk through hellfire to get it. You mean nothing to them. Please don't wind up dead for your material stuff.

Both of them were carrying 45s ... These are 8 and 11 year old boys!

Holy Fuggin Jeebus! Where the fock do you LIVE, man!?!

GOT to be So Cal ... right? :(

I'll believe it, I live in corn country just outside Chicago(55 miles southwest) in Morris, and they catch all kinds of crap around here. The whole area I live in is surrounded by soy beans and corn.

I hate drug addicts.

Agreed, contact FBI ASAP to report the stolen ID's and uniform. You won't have any problem with USAA at all, except they may raise your rates after it is all over. As far as the claims, they are the best by far.

Do a search for the term "superpredators" on google. It's a crime phenom that should be hitting us right about any time now...so say criminologists. It's right out of a clock work orange. Should last about 15 years or so...they said.

Well , I just faxed my claim off to USAA. We will see how this goes.

I just keep remembering little things that I had in my suitcases. Hard to think of everything.

I also put a fraud alert on my credit. So that way if anybody tries to open a credit line...I get called.

Blast from the past.... (One year later)

Cliff notes - Somebody stole all my luggage on 2/2005 from in front of my apt (Uniform, passport, id, laptop, headset, camera...)

Anyways I never found the guy who did it. I was in contact with the local police for several months but I just lost interest because nothing new was happening.

You were right about USAA they were great covering most everything. They even covered the expense of rushing my passport. However, they did not cover the car parts I had in my bag. I had like 300 bucks in car electronics because I was going to sell them on ebay while I was on the road. Now that I know how the claims process works in the future I should have pushed harder for that to be covered. I also learned their renters insurance covers me when I am away from home. So, if somebody rips off my hotel room when I am in BFE I am covered. Which is outstanding!

Overall , the claim amount was over 5k. On the bright side I got the newer model laptop, camera, new uniform, and new bags. But I wasted so much of my own time gathering all the new stuff it was annoying.
