Can a single guy, late 20's, live comfortably (save money?) in the socal area on $60-75k/yr ? Living anywhere between Burbank and Ventura, or possibly further south. Flying less than 100 days a year with potential for advacement and/or side income.

Any opinions appreciated.

If that flight time is current on your profile and you have just been presented with this opportunity, you would be an arse and will be threatened, if not severely beaten by King Air and Citation drivers in this forum. :p

Amflight and other guys have been living comfortably on 1/3rd the amount in the areas between Burbank and Ventura.

If you like flying and hate driving, live close to the airport.

Sock 10-20% away for the future furlough.

Don't think about home ownership until that $75k becomes 500k.

French Valley Aviation in Murrieta/Temecula is looking for flight instructors. there is an opportunity to make a decent amount of cash, and fly decent planes to build up time.

They also have a charter dept with a lear 55, lear 31, westwind II, premier and a king air 200, with more to come.

I also agree with the other poster, about Ameriflight if you are set on an airline than that would be a good place to go.

Very easily. Heck, you could live in Hermosa Beach or Manhattan Beach on that salary and live well. Can you buy a condo or house on that salary? Probably not, unless you have a big downpayment. But you will be able to rent an apartment and pay your bills no problemo...

The flight time is current. The opporturnity is more of an open ended offer after I get a few more hours. For fear of being beaten I won't say how many more. If it helps prevent the beating, CJ6 in my profile is a chinese warbird similar to a yak 52, not a citation.

Thanks for replies guys

SB - met one of your King Air guys in LAS the other day. Sounds like you have a good fly dept. They looking for any contract LR guys?

Baja.
