I personally have had a wonderful career and wouldn't trade it for anything.

If you are so unhappy you will be relieved to know that we live in a country where you can do anything you want.

yep-the great thing is that you can do anything and make as much money as your mental abilities allow. Sounds like someones wife has lowered their standards.

Happiness and contentment are choices we make in life. Either you enjoy what you do or you do not.

I am living in the USA where you can still embark on any profession you choose. Again, if you are unhappy with being an Airline Pilot then by all means quit and give someone else a chance.

I worked in the Corporate Business world for a number of years. You think being an Airline Pilot has some issues? You should work in corporate America.

BTW, I am not being a smartas$. I am stating the obvious. Sorry you hate your career and the fact that you and your wife have little perspective.

You must be in recruiting....Everything that DUMMY said is true!! If you're in this field long enough, you will get to experience it all...

That skit was pretty ridiculous. It doesn't describe anything except someone stuck at a Regional and depressed about it.

I average 19-20 days off a month, the hotels are decent, if not a Ritz Carlton, and if it is truly unacceptable, I self-walk to another, acceptable hotel.

And whether or not I'm a "professional" is up to me. If I wanted to be a physician, I'd have gone to med school. If I'd have wanted to be a CEO, I'd have finished getting my Master's and pursued my MBA. I wanted to be a pilot, and that means accepting that I'm not at the top of the food chain. I will continue pursuing better compensation for our careers, but just because it's not back there yet doesn't mean I give up.

That video personifies everything that's wrong with many of today's airline pilot: defeated, self-loathing, and unprofessional.
