I don't know about the "smurf" thing, but I do think that the darker color blue on the engines and winglets looks a bit odd (as in a bit out of place with the rest of the paint scheme).
At any rate, best of luck with Independence. I'll have to admit that some days I wish I hadn't been furloughed but then I'd have missed all the whipsaw fun and RJDC vs. mainline pissing contests at my present employer.
Before going on military leave I heard all the comments. One was if we broke ties with United we would fall apart that the majors would run us into the ground.
Now I come back we have are own airline. No big brother to come in and say cut your pay, hire our furloughed pilots, you will do this. Not anymore. I got in from Baghdad and landed in Stewart NY. I took the train to NY and flew on Independance. I knew the captain and he told me about the change over. I got to Dulles and JS on Delta. I was ridding in back with another JS from United. He told me that with us breaking ties it is hard on UAL. With the turn down of its loan, he said that things might get bad at UAL. It seems other majors will try and match our fairs. I guess only time will tell.
Now I see everyone making comments. Lets see what will be said a year from now.
